Needle & Syringe Exchange

Barnsley Syringe and Needle Exchange is a specific service for injecting drug users. The syringe and needle exchange provides clean injecting equipment to injecting drug users.

Ethos
The ethos of the syringe and needle exchange is to provide clean injecting equipment to minimise the risk to injecting drug users and the community.

Users of the exchange are issued with equipment and asked to return used equipment for safe disposal.

What does the Needle & Syringe Exchange provide?
The exchange provides clean injecting equipment, including needles, syringes, citric acid, filters,       pre-injection cleaning wipes (Sterets) and a ‘pocket bin’.

How do I access the exchange?
BADAS runs Needle & Syringe Exchange schemes for both adults and young people (under 18).

Over 18’s can access the exchange at the main BADAS premises at Burleigh Court, in Barnsley town centre.

Under 18’s can use the exchange at The BARN (see Young People’s section from menu opposite).

The exchange is free and confidential.
