Harm Reduction

Harm reduction is a term that defines policies, programmes, services and actions that work to reduce the health, social and economic harms to individuals; communities; and society that are associated with the use of drugs (Newcombe 1992).

At BADAS we offer a range of services aimed at reducing the harmful effect of the misuse of drugs and alcohol and to improve the quality of life for adult problematic substance users.

This may include support where there has been deterioration of physical, emotional or mental health or to deal with the spread of HIV and other infections such as Hepatitis C.
