Why have a needle and syringe programme?

The needle and syringe programme is an important part of our commitment to reducing the potential harm for injecting drug users.

Injecting drug users can access a specialist injecting service that is based at Burleigh Court. This service provides a place to dispose of used injecting equipment and distributes sterile equipment to injecting drug users. It also provides comprehensive safer injecting advice, information on over dose risks and injecting injuries.

BADAS also support the Needle and Syringe Programme that is operated by pharmacies across the borough to enable pharmacy staff to provide a comprehensive and quality service to injecting drug users.
